I went to Iowa to visit me mom and stepdad. They are HI transplants as am I. Iowa is a nice place to visit but just doesn't quite fit my lifestyle. My family had a great time there as we enjoyed the layed back pace of life.

The county my parents reside in is Popejoy. Here are a few pics I compiled on my trip.

Ok, this isn't in Iowa but I thought I'd throw it in.. Great action shot of my son attempting to smash a pinata.

Me mum and son enjoying the 4th of July hometown parade.

The town's swinging bridge, this is where we saw the fire works. I was lucky enough to view it from a river front home.

Pics of my paren'ts farm.

My mom is a plant nut and has many, many varieties of day lilies, some she even imported from my yard. They are tough little buggers..able to endure the winter.

Letting my son steer around my parent's golf cart was his most favorite thing to do.

I got an idea for my next tank project.. what do you think??

Great pics, lovely family! As for the tank.....Hmmmm......I think maybe loose the dragons and fill it up with discus!!! I have a friend that just moved away from Iowa to Texas, she brought her daylilies with her.

Seems like a good place to setup a discus farm though.
