http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_1_9.gif They say it is now at 5:19pm 106!! It is so hot here in Sacramento and I go look outside our huge kitchen window and here is what I see: Raja our Syberian Huskey and Titan our Great Dane have totally lost it! Of course Huskeys cool down this way but gimme a break!

How hot is it where you live??

110 is just an average summer day here in Phoenix although I'm glad to say that this summer most days have been less. So far! Actually, I'd be glad to say it has been in the 90's but that will never happen.

Here the problem is not temp (I think the record is only 93F) i'ts the humidity usually 60%-80%(no rain forrest with out it so...) year round. But, when you add the heat index factor it's like 110f

It's quite hot here today, hottest day of the year, so they say......??

When it gets hot here..which isn't very often, the blackbirds get so hot, they lay out flat on the grass, they look as if they are dead, wings out stretched and all.

It was 101 with a heat index of 107 here yesterday. It is suppose to get to 103 today. We have the high humidity here. You can't hardly breath here with all the humidity!

I think it is best to stay inside and have a nice COLD beer and carve beef heart! lol :D (thats what Andrew did yesterday) I think I'll try it this evening after work. No beef heart carving though.

ps.....Tony, you are something else.

Maire.. the dogs look fine.. but that duck doesn't look to well... you better check to see that it didn't get heatstroke and just "quacked" :D

It's only about 87 here in New Orleans... but it's freakin 98% humidity!
I'm swear i'm breathing in pure water

Tony, I feel your pain. I'm in Florida. Our weather is very similar to yours. Yesterday it was in the high 90s here, but with the humidity and heat index added in, it was well into the 100s. Plus we've had rain in the late morning/early afternoon for the past couple of days, and that makes it even hotter in the afternoons. You can see the steam rising off the pavement outside.

It's been 100 or above here for past week and a half and the forecast for us by friday is 110...as it stands I've already seen 105 in the shade on the thermometer on my front porch.

Yep Marc! The duck bit the dust! I was telling Amber that Raja and Ti go to my daughter's room and steal her stuffed animals off of this really high shelf! Then when you bust them ...they jam out the back door as they can open it themselves and if we dont put the stick in it ~ well ~ the punks are gone!! When you yell their names the faster they jam!

It is hilarious! Not too funny tho when they snatch your sandwhich that you took minutes to prepare and jam out to the backyard! They are all so tall and Raja jumps ...they simply can not resist food on the counter! Amber will chase them Marc all over the backyard ~ pissed as hell but if she isnt eating that sandwhich ~ neither are they!! I just kick back and laugh! They would never steal mine;)

I had great plans yesterday to cut more firewood for the winter but the heat and humidity was too much.

I groomed my two older Springer Spaniels instead I'll do the three younger ones today. We put them in the pool for a swim which really cools them down.

Marie, I have noticed over the years that as my dogs get older they tend to like to lay in the very hot sun for a while like yours in the picture.

Boy, do I remember the California heat! but as I remember it, there would be 2 weeks of intense heat, then down to just plain hot. I hope you guys are set for a cool off soon.
Used to put ice in the dog's water bucket and watch him "snorkle" for those cubes! Our rabbits used to lay out on 2 liter Coke bottles, filled with water and frozen. That was a sight!

Its been so hot in places in the UK that the gritter lorries that normally put de-icer down have been spreading small rock fragments to try and hold the roads together. Thet are literally melting. Glad my office and car have a/c, wish my study did.

On a side note...even though Daly City was a little cooler(yesterday), I was still able to break my fridge when I was "hammering" the ice down inside my freezer(so stupid should've let it sit & defrost lol) because I was just a bit to lazy to adjust the knobs on my heaters.:( What was I thinking...I hammered to deep into the freon line and heard some weird noise. OMG I thought it was gonna explode or something it was so funny!!! :p

Good excuse for a bigger fridge I guess...

You guys in the Sac-town area must be HOT HOT HOT I feel for you.
