how big should they be

hi all, i have 6 week old rm's how big should they be, they are alittle bigger than a quarter, and how long before they color-up????

Yup that sounds about right. Every strain is a little different on growth and time it takes to color up but my MR's don't really get nice red until 3 months or so, longer for some. the spotted and striated fish take 6 months in some cases. You will really have to wait and see

Here is a pic of some blue pigeons (remember the big 200+ spawn) These guys/girls are approx 3 months. They are just starting to color up and show body striations, etc. This is not a good angle of the fish but it kinda shows you the body color, etc.
