I keep mine in pH 7.8 and they grow out fine. Buy some RO water to fill your QT tank 3/4 full and 1/4 your aged water. Put them right in.

Hey Kobe,

I wouldn't worry about the pH...I grow out most of my Discus in the 7.5 range without problems. Remember the pH needs to be stable and your Discus will acclimate to it. Also, you should be okay when going from a lower pH to a higher pH in you tanks.

I believe there is also someone here that breeds at 8.0? They should be just fine :) I have tanganyikan africans.. which like a ph of 8.0-9.0 in a 7.4 ph, and they are doing great! Calvus look as tho they are about to spawn! Fish can adapt really well :)
