These are my animals.......
That would be a sheltie on the left (Male) His name was lassy, he has passed on and is now in a nice mahogany box on our fireplace mantle. He was the kids dog. :(
On the right is a sheltie (female) Her name is diamond. She is mine and I got her about 11 years ago as a pup.
The newest addition is CoCo the little long haired dauschund. PITA dog that barks all the time and never would potty train. My wife had to have this dog for $350. Shes cute but still a PITA.
The 2 animals in the middle are called kids. In the back is Brandon (Step son) and in front is Brittani (Step Daughter). This pic was taken about 4 or so years ago

One of four dogs.....

Bandit....2cd aqquired..rescue dog taken home on a Sunday
the day before he was to be put to sleep. I was finishing
a slate floor ans countertop for a lady who had a few border collies..
I said I liked them and she took me to the shelter where she worked
on an off day and had him for 6-7 years. He was sick when we got him
kennel cough...now he's fat and sassy. Little mean...and he lives under our bed. He has some issues with things but he's generally happy.

I have been bitten several times playing with him. Bandit don't play nice.

Smokey. My soul dog. 3rd aqquired.

Best dog I have ever had. Found as a stray on thanksgiving 4 years ago at my moms house. Very skinny..very run down. Took him home and fattened him up. This dog would die for me in a second. He guards me constantly and
won't let anyone near me when Im sleeping. When I have a small party or guest over...smokey always finds the weakest person and stalks them.
He actually makes a game of intimidating people. (all in fun). Picture does him
no justus. Picture is of him sleeping at my feet as we speak.

Shaina our OG dog. #1 alpha female. Waited on a list for 2 years for her
and she had bad hips from birth. They wanted her back to put down...
I said kiss my arse! She's 9 now and gets around pretty good.

Big sweet baby. Runs the other dogs though. Opens doors(she's big)
and steals puppy treats.

She's on the right sleeping. Other is smoke.

Shadow. Last of 4 beasts. Hurricane Katrina rescue dog. A kid that come over for me to fix his car told me about this poor dog that stayed in an empty
house in a crate for 2 months only being fed or watered once a day.

I had the kid bring me the dog and told hime to tell the owner that if he wanted the dog...he could come talk to me. No one ever came over.

He ended up having a rare disease that almost killed him called mastatory
mysoisis or something...he gets flare ups but it is managed with steroids.
IT'S a weird immune thing where his antibodies attack a special enzyme created in his jaw mucles. Thus lack of a muscle pad on jis head...he's
got a little bit of a bony head...but he's a character and is my wifes
dog 100 percent.

Yes Raja he is my favourite breed of dog and I love his name also:) If I had a husky the dog would be priceless to me no money would tempt me to sell.

Right now I only have four birds some where of my old birds the yellow one being my favourite. Maguel my yellow and gray one can talk a little he says his name in spanish and tries to say kissy kissy. We bought both of them from some one that only spoke spanish to them so they may know more but I'm not sure. All together I've had about 13 birds.:D

I have two indoor cats. I raised them both from small kittens. Sonnie, my male cat, was orphaned as a 2-week old and had to be bottle-fed. He is very dependent and acts more like a dog than a cat. He's only been outside once in his life and he's afraid of it. He will always be a house cat.

Talula spends most of her time indoors now after injuring her leg earlier this year, but before that she was mostly outside. She gets restless once in a while and I put her out. Talula was a hurricane kitten... her mother was an outdoor cat that lived at the rental house I was in at the time. The cat had a litter of kittens that were about 5 weeks old when we were hit with a series of hurricanes in 2004. I couldn't take all six kittens, but I took her because she was the runt and I had bonded with her quite a bit. Funny thing is that she was snow white when she was born, but all her brothers and sisters were grey. Her brothers and sisters grew up to be grey cats, but Talula developed the "seal point" Siamese coloring and she's very dark now.

OK, I thought it was time for me to post my two pussys. They are brother and sister, and come from a long line of pure white cats. The story goes that the original white kitten was bought from some owners in Edinbourgh, Scotland, over 60 years ago. The old couple we got them from told us that they had bred from the kitten and always had white kittens from her. As the years past, they always kept one of the kittens and bred, kept one and so on. We had the last 2 from this litter.
Named Scampy (the boy) and Smudge (the Girl) we have loved them for 3 years now. Smudge at just over one year old got pregnant, local tom, and gave birth to 5 kittens, four were pure white, one was jet black all over.

Anyway, hope you like the photos below, taken today. Scampy is stretching out, normal pose for him, and Smudge I caught under our desk having a nap.

hi Liz!

love the pitbull! my good friend has had one for 12 years and its a big wuss and wonderful pet. how do you feel about this growing movement to ban pitbulls? i know how my bud feels!

"Puppies born after Nov. 27, 2005 must be shipped out of the province, given to a research facility or destroyed."

Tim, Did this law hold up in the courts? As the aritcle states, I would think it too vague.

My Pit mix, "GladysWaggin'***" (see pic) sold me on the breed. She is gentle and loving and loyal to the core. Even though she's not pure, she has the heart of a Pit. I know that this dog would never harm anyone UNLESS they threatened John or me. I know that she would lay down her life for us. I've seen her protect our porperty through intimidation. (hey, nothing more is necessary)

But the breed was bred to be dog agressive. An unsocialized dog could confuse a running screaming child for a prey animal. I guess what I'm saying is that I understand the concern of the anti-Pit people. The dogs are tenacious and can be dangerous. But the problem is with the owners and how they socialize the dogs not with the breed itself.

Exactly! Early socialization is the key with any breed esp with Pits since they generate mostly from backyard breeders and are unpredictable at best~they are really frowned upon here in Cali as well ~ they are un- adoptable at our shelters and are euthanized pretty much immediately:(

But I love them:)

Gladys is around 8 years. Don't know for sure. She's one I rescued. She showed up at the vet's w/o an owner in tow. They were going to send her to the shelter. A black unspayed Pit mix with a huge ugly glaucoma eye wouldn't have stood much of a chance, so....

The Avarian Vet says it needs to be on for around the same period of time he's been feather plucking. So that's around 8 months  Even so, he may go straight back to plucking. Chris:

Thanks, he has german lines on the fifth generation but parents are from American breeders. I was on the waiting list for 2 years before he came around. When I saw him, I knew a had finally found my dream dog.

May I ask who the breeder is? I really like the looks of your dog.

I don't have them anymore... :( Sad for me But this is one of my Sugar Gliders, adorable little things i had two, the other was on my stomach at the time of the picture but that's T.J the others name was Matty, i was their home lol i
could take them out in public and they would just stay huddled together in my pocket and come out if i coaxed them with a grape (their favourite) it was pretty cool they made the craziest of sounds though check it out on youtube, that crazy sound is them O_O its called crabbing, they are nocturnal lol and if you bugged them while they were trying to sleep XD they were crabby anyways enjoy!

The sugar gliders are cool, my wife saw me looking at the picture and gave the look that says DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. Just because we have birds, fish, turtles and a dog doesn't mean we don't have room for them!!!!!

These are some of the beasts that share my life....welcome to the "animal kingdom". My male cocker Cesar isnt in here because he hates flashes. From left to right...it's Penny, Jasmine (whos is a young 15 years old), Sab the BTM, Socrates the grey and the "one ring that rule them all"...Shiao the pekingese. She is getting her feet fur trimmed, and she is not pleased. mike

Your BTM is gorgeous Mike. I've never seen one before. Love the Grey and your dogs are so cute. I know what you mean about living in the animal kingdom. I wouldn't know what to do if I wasn't constantly taking care of something furred, finned, or feathered.

The white kitty looks so wise and calm for its young age!!!! My BTM and grey would both freak if they ever saw a cat walk across the floor....mike
