Can the parents and frys do okay with pure tap water tank that has ph = ~7.0 ? I don't want to add any additional chemical to soften and lower the ph, because I don't know if those chemical can be harmful to the fry. Please advise.

They will do fine. We switch to aged tap water once they become wigglers. Our tap water is around 7.6. Have never had any problem with the ph at this level.
