hey does zeolite have to be replaced regularly like carbon? anyone know?

I think loses it's charge and has to be replaced.

Both Carbon and Zeolite should be replaced......with sponges, or some other type of bio-media. You don't need either one! ;)

Agree with Tony there..
But on a more scientific Note ( Tony;) ).. The carbon needs to be discarded..recharging it is only done on a commercial level for waste treatment plants and not something hobbyist can do..
The zeolite is however easily recharged by soaking in a strong salt solution for "x" amount of time. Check with the manufacturer of what brand you are using.. Soaking in salt, displaces the ammonia bound to the resin.
