My ro has been acting up...with all new prefilters a few weeks ago...I was getting nice 007 tds 6.0ph water. Perfect. No ammonia, nitrate...clean
water.

Now...even with a new carbon....getting ammonia from chloramines...
water smells funny...but the kicker....tds are still being reduced
greatly. Tap is 300ppm. Waste water is 500 plus...ro with di out
is 17. Seems to be efficient enough...but my ph is coming out
at over 8 out of the ro with a low tds of 017. What gives?
How can I have high ph and hardly any tds?

Membrane going bad?

Help..I need to do a wc badly.

Sounds like your water utility flushed their lines recently. A Flush with Alum or chloramine might overwhelm your prefiltration and the higher amount of -OH ions in the feed water might be where that 8 is coming from.. Or, your DI cartridge is done....

Well just tested again....no more ammonia(chloramines), went ph dropped to 6.6
with the di out...tds 20 with di out. It was either as Randall said...
di went bad..but was only a couple weeks old. 3 max. Or the water co.
flushed the system...maybe the flush ate up my di?

I making some water before it changes again. This IS worse than a reef tank!
