epsom salt/magnesium sulfate is a completely different compound than salt/sodium chloride. It will be available at any drug store or dept store...good for soaking you feet in :)

Aquarium salt is marketing hype...salt is salt Period! Any kind of salt can be used, including iodized...It will not harm fish or nitrifying bacteria in the bio-filters.Just avoid ones with YPS as an anti-caking agent.

Epsom salt may help with non-bacterial bloat...it will not help with dropsy... and it will help with consitpation. It is not well absorbed by the fish and if you can get fish to eat it all the better.
