I don't know if its better... but Aquaticecosystems.com is where I have bought it in the past...

http://www.aquaticeco.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.detail/iid/11786/cid/1535

Its more expensive than The one you posted, but I have no idea how it stands up nutritionally.

I haven't tried them but I've read alot of good feedback on the 'Plus" line of flake from brineshrimp direct....They're thickerer...:D

http://www.brineshrimpdirect.com/c1/c4/Earthworm-Plus-c23.html

They have a beefheart flake too...I think I'll try that soon..

I prefer feeding sinking pellets so I get earthworm sticks from the same place that Brew gets his earthworm flakes.

I don't want to start a fight here but my Discus prefer to eat off the bottom. They like to peck around and blow on the food. Therefore, I prefer the sinkiest.

We feed earthworm flake also but we get ours from:

www.jehmco.com (http://www.jehmco.com)

they also have the medicated flakes. Prices are real reasonable and they are great to work with.

I have purchased allot of food from kens as well as Aquatic Eco systems and Jhemco. Kens food is high quality but I have had delays with his shipping. Jhemco is good for medications and their food is good too plus fast shipping.
Aquatic Eco systems is a bit pricey.

Aquaticeco is also very priceier if you don't order a large amount of goods. They soak you on the shipping and handling charges.

For the earthworm flakes, I've bought from Wet Thumb Aquatics. 1 lb. for $10.75.

For meds, I get them from jehmco.

I buy my earthworm flakes from www.aquaticeco.com. I still have'nt gotten around to trying the sticks but regardless of the form I feel this is almost a must have for discus keepers to add something good to their discus diets.
I use it in my beefheart mix. Per pound of cleaned beefheart I add add 1 cup each of earthworm flakes and F.D. bloodworms among other things. The dry foods soak up the liquid vitamins I add and I fold in these ingredients in after blending the beefheart. The fd bloodworms have a desirable "fiber reinforcing" effect that improves the cohesion of the mix. I use agar as my binder. At any rate the earthworm based foods have become an important part of the diets of my breeders and fry of Corydoras, Hypancistrus plecos, and discus of all sizes. Studies done about 50 years ago did show much improved growth in the test fishes, Bettas, I believe, that were fed earthworms vs the then popular "Gordon's formula, a beefliver based food popular at the time. I read this in the old Aquarium Journal Magazine. Now long out of business but many of you "old ones" will remember what a good magazine it was.
I buy metronidazole as a componet of Gel-Tek Ultra Cure PX because I like to kill a lot of bugs at the same time and I soak Tetra Color Bits in it for delivery.
When used internally the amount of medicine and the cost doesn't really amount to much regardless of where I buy. Still, Aquatic Ecosystems sells earthworm flakes, sticks and metronidazole. I would add that whole f.d. earthworms are also available from www.somethingsphishy.com and I find that the Hypancistrus plecos and my Sturisomas really like them. I use a grid style food clip to feed it to them or presoak them in vitamins in the fridge before feeding to the discus and I have to smush the air out of them to get them to sink althought many of my discus are used to feeding off the surface, too.

I've tried the earthworm and beef heart flakes from Brine Shrimp Direct but my fish wouldn't touch them. I ended up putting it into my BH mix. Anyone else have trouble getting your fish to eat them?
In general BSD has very high quality foods and their line of color enhancing
flakes have more astaxanthin than any others I know of. Very good place to deal with.

I'm surprised to hear that Kacey...I got the Earth Worm Plus flakes from BSD and all the discus loved it. The first time they had seen it, they were all inhailing it within 10 seconds of it being in the tank.
Strange how different Discus can be....

Yeah, discus are wierd fish. I have one tank of discus that won't touch TetraBits, not even one of the 6 fish in it, but all my other fish love them. Go figure.

Prime Reef is better IMO

I agree w/Eddie that Prime Reef is a better flake, I buy from that vendor because I feed many different fish and I like to make a custom mix.

Also, I don't feed my discus flake directly, but use it in all food mixes I prepare for them.

just received my earth worm flake and beef heart flake from angelplus,

besides ON prime reef, brine shrimp plus, spiril something, tetra bits and frozen blood worms,

my discus gobbled up all of the beef heart flakes in an instant, can't wait to try out the earth worm flakes,

i can't get my discus to eat the new life spectrum pellets, so that's kinda annoying,

hi there....i bought the freeze dried earthworms from Ken's along with some of his vitamin flakes, liver flakes, bloodworms, brine shrimp, and tubiflex
i used a coffe grinder to grind up the earthworms and all the other ingredients
together and my discus just love this stuff.....i also give beefheart once a day.
I think Ken's has great food for the dollar value and he has been super quick in delivery, even up here to Canada....
