I finally got a few pics of these lucky guys. Fed Ex was out to get 'em... They're still a bit raggy looking but at least they finally came out for a few shots.

Tony at Sunrise Tropicals did an outstanding job packing these guys, and he was wonderful to deal with and speak to. He was very helpful and if I somehow end up with another tank open (LOL) he has more Discus that I'd love to get.

Good looking fish and yes, Tony does an outstanding job packing fish. I have not yet seen another person come close to the condition of discus upon arrival.

David, thanks. Tony measured them before shipping and came up with 4.75" TL. He definitely has some nice fish.

Super fish Connie, you were so lucky you got to them in time, just think what a waste that would have been.

They look great considering hwat they have been through.

Paul, only 8 years? Thought it'd take longer, at least 10 years! :D Anyway, here's hoping I DO NOT need your expertise in medical care!

And how many do they usually have, anyway? I can't remember.

Here's two pics of the Rose Reds and how they look today, compared to when they were first delivered on 10/28/06. Big difference in color, and they're still coloring up. :D They've also been shivering at each other, on and off, but nothing else, yet.

Well if the shivering comes to anything, maybe one day I'll try to raise a batch of fry and ship you some, Marie.

You too, Paul!

Well, the shivering did come to something... came home from dinner tonight to find the Rose Reds spawning. The male is not making any passes over the eggs, though, he's just mouthing them. They are a young pair, though, about 9 mos. old. Guess he's not old enough yet to know what to do!

Congrats! Maybe some of the future fry will spread out to Simply family!! (put me on that list)

Thanks. I don't know actually what their ancestry is. I think I will ask about that from the place I purchased them. Hmmmm, maybe I'll start a separate thread asking about that, too.
