I should point out a few rules. Has to be funny, have to do with discus, has to somewhat follow the same direction of the original song...ie same letters, words, sounds, ideas, etc.
Original song below...Now you have to make one that is close but has to do with our hobby.
Ex: A Partridge in a Pear Tree
A Discus that is Fluke-Free
It rhimes.:) Use some imagination and lets have fun with this one. :D
1st Day: The partridge in a pear tree
2nd Day: The "two turtle doves" Ex: Two Bull Dogs (2 seperate animals together, lol.)
3rd Day: The "three French hens" Ex: Three German Hans, lol
4th Day: The "four calling birds"
5th Day: The "five golden rings"
6th Day: The "six geese a-laying"
7th Day: The "seven swans a-swimming"
8th Day: The "eight maids a milking "
9th Day: The "nine ladies dancing"
10th Day: The "ten lords a-leaping"
11th Day: The "eleven pipers piping"
12th Day: The ‘twelve drummers drumming"
Maybe when we are done, Al can post it at the top of the forum as our holiday song?

OK this has got me thinking about the original song.
On the first day a partridge in a pear tree
On the second day 2 turtle doves and another partridge in a pear tree
On the third day 3 french hens 2 more turtle doves and another partridge in a pear tree
If you add this up over the twelve days that’s 184 birds
Who is this guy? Alfred Hitchcock that he needs 184 birds?
He better have a subscription to every newspaper written because even though he is starting with 184 birds you have to remember those geese are a laying and some of those eggs are going to be a hatching.
Now on top of this all these entertainers start showing up. There are ladies dancing, lords a leaping, drummers drumming, pipers piping. Now I know if you work in the entertainment field you may be required to work some holidays but what about those poor maids a milking? They should be at home celebrating the holiday with there family, instead there stuck at this guys house yanking on a cow while he keeps bring in more birds. And with all this going on who’s going to pick all those pears?

Am I missing something? That would only be 64 birds right? 12 Partridges, 22 turtle doves and 30 french hens. Ooops, I guess if ya add in 36 Calling Birds, 42 geese and 42 swans, lol. Thats alot-o-birds!
I wondered who came up with this song and why.
Urban legend says....
One partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.
Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.
Four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
Five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.
Six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.
Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit: prophesy, serving, teaching, exortation, contribution, leadership, and mercy.
Eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.
Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
Ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.
Eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.
Twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.
