That should work just fine for you. Just read the bag to make sure they haven't added anything like fertilizer to it.

dear friend.
thanks for answer.there is nothing more than what appears in the pic on the bag .I provide it from garden equipment shop and the shopper had no more information,how can i be sure of no fertilizer ?

If there is fertilizer added it should be listed. I don't know how the laws apply in your country though so I can't be entirely sure. My best guess is that it is safe to use.

Use the peat to treat water and use the water to house some small fish. If they don't die in 24 hours, you are ok.

Be aware that if there is no packing information, you will have to do this each time you guy a new bag of it. They could be adding nasty things anytime.
