Need ID on this discus. Also the sex, if possible. It's 5" from mouth to end of tail...

The following discus was a donation. A little over 5" from mouth to end of tail. The skin looks wrinkled, is this an old discus? What type of discus? How about sex?

1st pic is a fine line SS of some sort and the 2nd a pigeonblood variety. Anything more specific than that would be strictly a guess.
As far as gender, I'd say 2 females.

I agree with ShinShin... I would guess M/F, respectively... But, we all know that me sexing discus is like Rex Grossman completing a touch down pass before his first interception of the day (sorry Rex - Go Defense)

I would reverse Bill's sex guess Female/Male (although I really can't see the second one well enough to guess)
I do agree with both Mat and Bill that it's an SS and a PB though. The SS looks to be a bit unusual, so not a straight SS, but the PB looks like a regular PB to me.

Fine line female Snake Skin and a Male Pigeon Blood in a to dark tank, will probaly look much better in a tank with a light back ground?

Cool. Thanks.
Unfortunately, all my tanks are painted black, included the 125 gallon tank, where the new discus are housed. I started with a planted tank a few months ago, but the plants didn't do well. I'll eventually give it a try again in the future to add more color to the tank.

I was thinking the same thing, but given the size the spacing and pattern should be more defined.

maybe red scribble X SS but one thing is sure there is SS in it no matter what is crossed with.
