I personally dont think it is, but wanted to get the expert advice from you guys. I believe he/she darted into something, though I dont know exactly what to have caused this.

Should I worry about it? Eats great, eyes are red, no rapid breathing or anything.

Is this something I should treat?

water params are:
amonia/nitrite-0
GH- 6 (epsom salt in the tank at the moment) regularly 2
KH-0
PH-7.2
water temp 84.5

Recommendations on how you would adress this issue would be greatly appreciated...:)

Good water and leave it alone...it should heal up without any problems

Mark, I agree with Graham, looks like it bumped into something, clean water and it should be fine. Only thing to watch for is fungus, but doubt that will show.

I've had that happen to a few of mine at times. Clean water and it clears up fine by itself in a week.

Just for future reference, HITH forms along the sides of the head, not on the front. It forms near the front end of the lateral line and along the verticle stripe from the later line. It is, in fact, erosion of the lateral line organs.
