I have a 210g planted tank with approx 14 discus, all seem fine but I have noticed that one of the wild fish likes to eat gravel. Just wondering if this is normal or a symtom of somthing being wrong.

Thanks,

Are you sure hes not eating it then spitting it out? Because if he was eating it and not spitting it back out you would see something wrong with him.

Some of the gravel is spit out. And some is swallowed and passed.

Tanks,

As long as it's passing don't worry about...it's his way to get a balanced diet...ots of bacteria, algae and critters on that little rock

I know when I raised chickens they ate stones that where small and it helped there gizzard digest food easy. I also know dogs and cats do the same thing.
