Meal worms for Discus????

I just got back home from a day of ice fishing and bought some small meal worms from a pet shop for bait for fishing. I still have a lot left over and was wondering if anyone has fed these to there fish. Are they safe to feed ? I know that the bluegill and sunfish in the lake liked them alot...so why not the Discus? Anyone tried these? Thanks and I'm finally warming up after freezing all day,D.

I feed mine mealworms occassionally.. but I look for the white soft ones that are present for a short time right after the meal worms shed their hard exoskeleton.
