at what size or age do blue cobalts usually start to color up? I have one that is about 3-4 inches that hasnt colored yet with the exception of the fins. Thanks for the input.

Usually at 2-2.5 inches they have quite a bit of blue color in stripes, that fills in gradually. At 3-4, they have much more color, and at 4-6 inches are fully colored. This is if they are growing at about 1 inch per month.

about ten months..or so to get full colour. one of mine took almost a year. of course..there can also be throwbacks. i have some that were from full solid cobalts..and the babies have some striations still and two ended up with beautiful blue..but red striations. depending on the genetics.
