Well it is about time yes Angela and Andrew? Today is my mom's birthday and I miss her so much and I need her even more..... and I have had the week from hell so this quite makes up for it ~ I went to feed this tank and this is what I saw!

These were the discus I was going to "lose"....this tank has lots of light so the pictures are horrible ~ I am not sure who the mom is or dad....but they are white so that is not a good thing I'm thinkin.... The snowflake which is not pictured, gets in there too ~ little threesome:p

Made my day ~ These discus are two years or a little over ~

:)

At least you have one confirmed female.

Look closely at their breeding tubes... the females will be blunt and U-shaped, and larger than the male's. The male's will be smaller and more pointy, like a V.

There's always the possibility that it's two females, too.

Turn you heater completely horizontal, vacuum those eggs off and lower it more towards the tank floor so they dont get in the habit of laying there.

Marie, first, congratulations!!!!!!

Second, what Mike said is good advice. I've actually read that the female's breeding tube can get burned if the heater is on and she is laying eggs. Don't know if that's true, but it does kind of make sense.

My Stendker used to lay her eggs on the heater. I put it all the way at the bottom, and horizontal, and she STILL laid her eggs on it. I had to wrap a silk plant around the heater to stop her.

I wonder which one Ryan...? The Pigeon ( that Cliff gave me from Mark ) is the only one I see with tube down a little and then the Golden Intermediate from Dan...just a little I think ~ at any rate, these two stay close to the eggs....

We shall see...

I thought that Connie ~ don't they have to get pretty close to that heater? The eggs are still white....I will move the heater ~

Thanks!

Thanks!
They get really close when they lay. I've watched all 3 of my females laying eggs and the tube looks like it touches the surface that they're laying the eggs on. Those white eggs are no good, so you can get rid of them if you want.
