View Full Version : cross brace broken
Hello, hope everyone is well. I have done the all time stupid thing. I was cleaning a 30 gal. tank and as I got up from kneeling, I put my hand on on the cross brace on top and broke it. What can I do to fix the cross brace ?.I was cleaning it on the basement floor so I can put it on the rack to get readyto fill it. It is an older tank but very sturdily built. Hopefully there something I can do to fix it. Thanks again

Some of the older tanks it wouldn't make a difference but to fix it use a peice of plexi-glass and some SS screws and put a brace over the crack

Your LFs should be able to order an entire new frame for the top.
As Graham stated if it is an older tank you shouldn't have to worry as those were built alot better than they are today.
Thanks for the advice. I have noticed that the glass is alot thicker than my newer 30 gals are. I am going to put a cross brace as per Grahams instructions. Just a little insurance policy so I can sleep at night. Thanks again
