It's been suggested, and I was planning on treating my Discus with Kordon's Rid Ich (which is FMG). However, I remembered that Tetras don't tolerate Malachite Green. Product description of Rid Ich states the following:
Rid Ich+ formula utilizes the less common but also less toxic chloride salt of malachite green
Rid Ich+ has been shown to be reasonably safe for use on fishes which normally cannot tolerate malachite green alone
Fishes such as the so-called "scale-less" species (loaches, catfish, etc.) tolerate Rid Ich+ very well
Has anyone ever used Rid Ich with Tetras present as well? I don't want to kill my Cardinals.
Also, further in the product description, it states that it shouldn't be used to treat flukes. So maybe this is not the med to use, since I suspect gill flukes? Would regular Malachite Green treat gill flukes, which is what seems to be in Quick Cure?
