Im new to this hobby and was wondering how much does an adult discus cost. I have 9 alenquers but want one more to make it 10. I like solid colors only not wilds. I really like the red melon, red malbaro, san merah, and blue diamond. Is there a difference between a red melon, malbaro, or san merah or it just the different name.

It really depends on the type of adult discus you get, but on the average for a good quality adult discus you can expect to pay around $125.00.

As of your last question all of them look like the same discus to me but with different names.

red melon, is a hybrid of marlboro have little or almost no peppering and no patterns.

marlboro, is the initia red fish that was developed, it comes from pigeon strain, has little or no patterns

san merah, is bred from the rose red discus(the first red fish developed). It does not have stress bars.
