I have a pair that are breeding, I am having a problem with loading this pict. up but, location is side of forehead approx. 3 little white things right
next to each other. Barley protruding out. He eats well and I have him in
with a female and are laying eggs. No problems with her..
They look fine overall.. Eating great etc..

I don't know if this is some sort of parisite or possible just irratation...
I can send a picture to someone to help load up or ??

Any help would be appreciated. WC's 30-50% once per day..
I pretreat the water..

After checking into this more, I believe this is a case of "Body Flukes"...
I am treating with Parasite Clear..

I'm quite sure that isn't a parasite and efinately not a fluke. It may be a bit of a bacterial infection in the head pores of the fish....but it is not anything major.

At this point the most that I would do is swab those spots with a bit of iodine, but having said that if they are looking better then don't do anything. The fish's own immune systems seems to be looking after it.

That kind of looks like HITH to me not 100% sure from the picture.

HITH can have white things protruding from the holes. I believe that Discus has HITH (external form of Hex).

Here's an excerpt from an article on HITH: This disease usually starts out as a small "pimple" on the head, and as the condition proceeds in severity, ends up to be a very large sore causing lesions in the epithelium and... eventually ending up in death of the fish. Sometimes you are able to see small white nodules, sticking up out of the sore.

Here's the link to the article: http://www.nationalfishpharm.com/articles/hexamita.html
