I am new to the Discus world but not new to raising tropicals, koi and goldfish. In the next few weeks I will be purchasing 10 to 12 Juvies with the hopes of getting a couple of breeding pairs. My local water reads as follows (according to a home test I got from Home Depot):

PH 7.5; Alkalinity 120; Total chlorine 0.2; Hardness 50; Iron 0; Copper 0; Nitrate 0; Nitrite 0. I am filtering through peat in my HOB filter and my tank reads (55 gal) GH 120; KH 80; PH <7.0; Nitrite 0; Nitrate <20; Ammonia 0.

Are these acceptable readings to grow them out? I haven't noticed any big changes with my tank readings just using a python to do approx. 30% WC's. It is still cycling so I am only doing WC's twice a week for now. I know that this will change when I actually get my Discus in the tank.

Thanks for any input
