Figures. When I got these juveniles, this white pigeon would not eat for a couple of weeks and I was worried about him. I didn't want to lose him.:(

Well, NOW ..... he is the biggest in the tank and has the big cichlid attitude. He chased the two littlest ones untill they were hiding and one got ill!! And watching this morning, he is chasing everyone else from side to side at feeding time. I have food at both ends but would that stop him? NO!!

I have the 2 small ones in a 29 gallon being treated. I was going to put him in there for a time out when the little ones finish their treatment and get some weight and growth on them. But in the meantime, anything more I can do in the big tank to help curb his chasing, etc..? Short of keeping him a net (and yes, I was kidding about the net, I wouldn't do that);)

Here is Mr. Attitude. Isn't he gorgeous? But very deadly.:)

Thanks Marie, likewise to your guys. At least with more of them in your tank, the aggression is spread out a bit more? Makes me want to put up a divider and give him a time out.:)

he is a nice fish for sure. Sometimes they are just mean, I've tried allsorts of things, including interveneing with my hand, and shooing them away, had one attack my hand, little b****rd!! Sometimes a diveider or a holiday in another tank is the only way.

I had a bully but then I separated him to his own "time out" ten gallon tank for a month or so. To let the others beef up and be unstressed. He was more then friendly when I put him back with the others which caught up in size by then.

I am probably going to do just that same thing once the hospital tank is free. Put him in there for awhile and see how things go.:)

Yep, April, he is all boy! As for size wise, trying to measure through glass, roughly 4 - 4 1/2"? I can't believe for the age of them, their size.

*Postscript ~ I ended up putting back the scribbled red into the big tank. He was picking on the blue SS with just the two of them in the hospital tank. If I was ill, I wouldn't be wanting someone pecking and chasing me. So I did a water change on the big tank, added scribbled back in, moved the driftwood around, added some fake plants and have the lights on. That hopefully, will help some of the chasing. A few pics for you.
