Double Check this QT setup plz

Ok I got the el cheapo rubbermaid clear 28 gal container. I need at least 2 Discus to have a school of 6, but want to have a school of 8.
This is the setup and theory:

28 gal Container

4- 3" Discus
75% daily wc's
and the add water comes from the main tank, so they are acclimated to the main.

The main tank is planted, I'm thinking 8 weeks is enough for 1 inch of growth.

Will this work, it's not to small for 4 discus with the w/c's + the 1 from the main tank at the end of qt?

should be fine as far as size i have a 24 gal. rubbermaid tank that i use to keep 6 at a time until they get a couple inches bigger then that and i only do 50% a day water changes

What is the one from the main tank and is it in the main tank now? If it is then using water from the main tank defeats the quarintine

This is for new discus. Not qting a sick fish. The water from the main tank to the qt is so the new fish, are already acclimated to the main water.
