I find it personal preference some move them as early as 1 week , i normally leave them for two to three weeks depends on how many also and if they are knocking the parents around at all,i just make shure they are always eating bbs well.

cheers

I tend to keep fry with their parents for as long as possible, sometimes 3 weeks or more. Most remove the parents or fry at 10 days though.

I like to move them as soon as possible, day 6 to 10 depending on how well the fry are doing. A cpl of reasons for this, imo early removal greatly reduces possible damage to the pair from the fry particularly very large spawns and the pair will respawn again in less time, and i believe there are less problems with internal and external parasites transferred to the fry from the parents. Day 6 discus are no more difficult to raise than 3 to 4 week old discus imo.

I did it the other way ... I use a 40 gallon tank to breed. I keep the parents with the frys up to 3 weeks. Then I move the parents back to the community tank .. to give them a break and recover (unless you are desperate for the pair to spawn again). I will leave the frys in the tank until they need more room.

4-6 weeks is a good call to move fry. Make sure they are eating a variety of foods though. Also, don't over do your grow out tank. Not to big or they will get lost in there.
