Hi, I have 6 juvenile discus and the largest one has been sick for a few days now. His stomach is bloated and pinched off at the end. He has been acting odd for the past few days too. Doesn't eat and sticks to himself. He used to be the alpha so that is weird behaviour.

I went by what Carol said in one of the threads and did a two day course of epsom salt for the whole lot, but nothing has changed. I haven't seen this guy's poo but there was a whole lot of white chewy poo when I dosed epsom salt.

He's still got the bloated stomach and refuses to eat. What should i do now?

sounds like a case of Intestinal Flagellates, which can be treated with metro.

If the feces are long, white, and segmented, you mave have tapeworms. Which is treated with panzi.

How long has it been since this Discus has eaten? When Discus go awhile with no food, they will shed their stomach lining. Look under the sticky common treatments on this board and you will see a list of illnesses with symptoms and treatments.

Thanks , Amy.
I just started off on Metro. 400 mg per 10 gal.
Lets see how it works out.

If the bloating continues you need an antibiotic like maracyn 2 or kanacyn.
