Are frozen tubiflex safe?

Are frozen tubiflex safe to feed to my discus?
A long time ago I fed live tubiflex and got many strange insects in the tank. Don T.

I went through the same questions when I started keeping discus about three years ago, I even called Hikari and drilled them with questions about the cleanliness of their frozen tubiflex product...
I ended up giving them away after I spoke to many in this forum.

Thanks; I'm looking for something else to feed my discus. Thet eat flakes,color bits, FBW and FBS. They like the FBW best. They eat the FBS but not near like they eat the FBW.
What frozen foods are there that are safe? Thanks; Don T.

As of the other frozen foods that are out there are safe for your discus. You should just stay away from tubiflex.

buy hikari, they freezedry which kill bad parasits. very good stuff.

My fish enjoy Ocean Nutrition Formula 1 Flakes, Formula 2 less so. They really like attacking the Formula 1 Frozen Cubes:

Forgot to add, I supplement with PE Mysis shrimp too:

I was told that the hikari frozen tubifex are ok. I have fed them myself with no problems except that the fish didn't care for them.
