Has anyone used sodium bisulfate to lower the ph of water in aquariums?? Tank is being set up and prepared for introduction of discus. I will slowly allow the ph to go back up to the 7.8 or so that I usually have by way of partial water changes. I'm attempting to ease the new discus into water more like what they have been in.

I have pure sodium bisulfate, and it does lower ph. i'm wondering if it will cause a problem with fish???

Hey Jack,
Personally don't like to use chemicals to in my tanks but many do with no problems.
Seems like it's hard to control ph swings, probably would'nt hurt for a short time.
I use peat to reduce ph, just my opinion.
