Some updated pics of some of the discus I got from Lucky Tropical back at the end of June. The alencers seem to be doing ok.

You can see some of the mandarin passions in this shot....not so good.

Karen,
All of the fish in the first 4 photos look fine to me, including the Mandarin Passions that you apparently think there is something wrong with. However all of the fish in the last photos are barely "B" grade to my eyes, oval, and beaky the lot of them, especially whatever those yellow ones are. The BD (and hopefully this is only the photo) has incredibly huge eyes.

The string you see in the first photo is from the digital thermometer. Not poop! :)

Actually the pure goldens don't look so bad in person, they have some growing to do so I'm kind of waiting to see what they look like. The snow white doesn't look so good to me. The Ocean Green (not BD) I'm not sure about. The eyes don't look so bad in person either, I'll try to snap a better picture. The OG has always been a good eater, a regular pig, I'm not sure why it seems to be falling behind on growth, unless they are slow growers??

The alencers are mostly decent, except one but it was sick to start with and kind of never caught up after that. The mandarin passions really don't look that good to me. Poor shape and color the lot of them. I'll see if I can get more specific pictures of those as well. See what you think then. Maybe I'm just picky but...I don't expect "B" grade stock from a sponsor regardless.

Here's some more pics. Unfortunately seems the OG has a huge eye and the pure goldens are indeed beaky and pointed. Incredible the SS's and Leopards I have came from the same source as these...

Hi Karen they do not look bad at all in fact to me are are decent discus. I think I know why you do not like the others. The alenquers are more or less high body while the others are regular shape or more or less football shape. I think you personally like high body shape, with high fins. Most sellers will indicate high body or/and high fins to describe what they are. Were they sold to you as I have described?

Quality is also based on the individual's preference.
