:D Wow, that's real cool lookin' fish....is he eating yet? Your Qt tank is real nice too....when I had SW fish, butterflies were difficult to manage until they ate well, then they were ok...but that was yrs ago, probably easier today...I look forward to starting another SW tank in the future.... Dottie ;)

i was that way too, believe it or not, not harder than fresh...and less water changes than discus, or in my case the same amount :D

Saltwater is a breeze compared to discus but SW cost is high at the start protien skimmers live rock etc.

not really, im sure its about the same as setting up any tank. only difference is the skimmer but you can get one that will do a good job for 100 or less depending on your tank size.

salt fish on the other hand, unless youre buying big discus cost more than the usual freshwater fish

yep big bummer, i assume something like ich, i saw it glance off a rock one day and noticed white dots and then i couldnt see anything the next day and was fine. the day before yesterday it was happy and eating like a pig. yesterday i could tell something was wrong, this morning it was dead.

i had it in a qt tank that had sick fish in it before. i changed 90% of the water, maybe it wasnt enough? I also cleaned all the decorations and filters but not the live rock. Could that have had something to do with it? LIttle frustrated now, ive lost 150 or so in 3 salt fish and a total of 15 bucks in discus...

Ouch!

Don't suppose you can have a BB with a salt water tank? Would be easier to disinfect!

or not ~
