Ok guys got water readings now...ph help please?

Ok, I posted another topic last week about getting my ph down to around 5.5. I need to do so for a species of turtle I am keeping, other wise shell issue will arise. My water comes out of the tap as follows:

Ph- 7.8
GH- 0
KH- 22

This is well water ran through a water softener. What if anything can I do to get the kh down so ph will go down? Atleast I think thats how it works.......

Without an RO system you are not going to be able to achieve the parameters you want. You would have to use chemicals to even get close and then you are playing with fire on rebound effects on the PH constantly and then your turtle is really in trouble. You will not be able to keep your PH at 5.5 with chemicals, basically your only choice is to purchase an RO.

Ditto; Your KH will prevent you from changing the PH. RO plus chemicals or find natural water with the correct ph. Don T.

What are your readings if you bypass the water softner?
