We have an old house . Most of the pipes are galvanized but some are copper. I am cosidering filling my new storage tank from an outlet that is plumbed in copper. Is this likely to cause a problem?

It shouldn't be a problem at all but just to be on the safe side, flush the pipe out for a few seconds before filling the storage tank

Hi Don,
My house is pretty old..and I know the water has been corroding away the copper pipes by the number of times I need to replace leaking ones! it hasn't affected my fish adversely that I know of.

If you are very concerned there are products out there that deal with heavy metals.....basically detoxing them.. I have never used them though so no feed back there.

Thanks; My new ro unit is hooked to these pipes as is out wash machine so they get "flushed" frequently. I now finaly have sufficient water storage: 37g upstairs and 47 g in basement.

thanks; Don T.
