Hello guys

I have had a hard time gaining access to Formalin so i searched the web and found this product which is intended for Koi carpes:

http://www.koi-house.de/catalog/images/NT221.jpg

Info on the product:

Nt labs Koi Care Formaldehyde

Formaldehyde 30% is effective against protozoan parasites and flukes. It is especially useful in treating flukes because of it's ability to penetrate mucus and reach the parasites that would otherwise be protected from other bath treatments.

Caution: Formaldehyde is a hazardous chemical and should be handled with great care, please read the warnings on the label carefully.

250 ml treats 17048 litres (3750 gallons)
More info: http://www.ntlabs.co.uk/UserFiles/File/formaldehyde.pdf

I have just bought a this flask but before i use it i just want to make sure that this IS in fact formalin and can be used to treat discus.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
Formalin is nothing more than a solution of Formaldehyde , usually around 37%...and its usually stabilized with 10-15 % methanol.

It sounds like the product you have is the same...only instead of 37%, yours is a little less formaldehyde.. 30%...

It should work the same.
