when i came home from school on friday i saw eggs on my heater in my community tank...so i set up another tank

i was going to move the pair into the other tank this weekend
however they beat me
today when i came home i saw more eggs...

i shut off the heater and put another one in...
ive been reading about breeding discus...

should i move the pair and the eggs or leave them?

the eggs were gone sat night

i dont want them to eat them again

i put the breeding cone in today cause i finally got one
mabey they will move the eggs to the cone?

right now with the fish there are only 6 cardinals (its a 55)
i moved the other discus out and the otto

Metfan hi... what strain where the fish sold to you as.. ??

And where are the eggs exactly now ? on the heater?

that one is a "Silver pigeon blood" and the other is a red leopard

yes they are still on the heater

i just saw the pb going up and down with the tube out no eggs being laid im assuming hes the male
also because no eggs were laid before i added the leopard

should i continue with this weekend water change or wait until after they hatch?

any advice?

Continue with your normal wc routine. By the pictures looks like you might have 2 females. However, until you see wigglers you really don't know. Do you have another tank you can move to two to be by themselves?

should i move the eggs with them?

the eggs so far havent hatched?

does any one have a pic of what the eggs looked before fertalized and after?

Congrats on the spawns!! If the eggs are not fertile, they will be white and start to fungus.. which is usually why they eat them. It usually takes a few times for the parents to get it right too. Dont loose heart if they eat this batch too. They'll lay again :) I would let them spawn 3-4 times in that tank, then move them later before they spawn again. This gives them time to get the hang of things and you to figure out if kou really do have two females or not.

so i moved the "pair" into a seprate tank
i added the breeding cone

the cone started off in the middle of the tank now its all the way in the corner

they moved it?

it looks as if they are making runs on the bottom of the tank?

so they started making runs on the cone..

i think the spb is the female it has a tube stickin of from her bottom...

i dont see any eggs...and the spb started pecking at the cone after making some runs...

help please?

are the fish laying eggs too fast?
