4 three inch and 2 four inch discus with 3 1.5 inch cories ina BB 55 with 3 sponge filters and an aquaclear. 0 NH3/NH4, 0 NO2, 5 NO3,
Ph 6.8, temp 87, 25% per day water change, clean filter once per week. Water has clouded up and can't figure why. Any guesses?

Bacteria bloom... probably cleaned your filters too well. It should clear up in a few days.

I agree with the bacteria bloom.

Greetings numinous,

With the water readings that you have described you don't need
to change the water until the NO3 goes above 20 or 25. Unless,
of course there is another problem that you have detected with
water measurements.

I think there are multiple causes for "cloudy water". For me when my water gets cloudy I back off on the food for a few days. Don T.
