first time laying eggs

A female red scribbled and a male RSG spawned this afternoon on a spawning cone. The male's tube was down but he ate the eggs as soon as the female laid them. Should I do anything for next time?

Since this is their first time laying eggs I wouldn't do anything with them. It usually takes quite a while for a young pair to get it right.
