Hello,

I am not a breader but I do have a question. How old should a 2.5 inch Discus be? around what age.

How Big should they be at a year?

I understand what stunted Discus look like was just wondering how to age a young discus and rate of growth and i do understand they grow at different rates.

Thanks for your help

Figure about 10-12 weeks depending on how aggressively they were fed. At a year for most strains you want to see about a 6" or better fish: females may run a bit smaller, and some strains seem to grow more slowly for me, like spotteds.
Hope that will help--just my experience, by the way.

Figure aprox 1 inch per month for the first 3+ months if their being fed and cared for well.

I agree with Kaceyo...a 2.5 inch fish sould be between 2 1/2 to 3 months old...
