On youtube there is available quite nice video of temperature antiprotozoan treatment with thermometer visible. As far as I know protozoans have gone to hell, discus are still alive.

Nevermind...I now understand by reading some of your other post's...Very interesting that they can survive at such high temps. Any idea how long these were kept at that temp?

It is only 4C above their optimal temperature (27-32C). Discus can survive even higher temperatures but it is too risky and not necessary.

Ask him, but I'm almost sure he kept them in this temperature at least for 72h.
