The pair was in the community tank when they spawned on a potted plant, I moved them and the potted plant into a bare bottom 29 gallon tank with all white sides. The plant is pretty big, should I take the plant out when they start to free swim? Another thing is my sponge fliter and heater in the tank are black is that going to be a problem?

Once they free swim I would remove the plant. The sponge filter and heater might be a problem, I would wait and see if they attach to the parents before doing anything.

Thanks, I havent been on the forum in a while. Im sure I will have more questions but is there a Substitute to BB shirmp? Will frozen BB shrimp work?

i can usually get mine to take frozen BBS in a pinch. you can also try FirstBites (hikari). but fresh BBS is the best.
