I had put a thread in here about using Gel-Tek Ultra Cure PX but I know you may need to treat the water as well. What is everone's take on Fish Zole? It seems to be only Metronidazole. Has anyone used this? Is it worth buying?

Here is the link:

Thanks!

I don't like it. It does not dissolve well in water and leaves a particulate residue all over your tank.

Al at Rocky Mountain discus sells a powdered metro that dissolves much better.

In comparison to Fish Zole and The Metro powder from Rocky Mountain Discus?

I've used that one and it did absolutely nothing, it's a minute amount with a very small measuring device and the bottle was only half full. My favorite metro / flagyl to use is either a RX from the drugstore and crush pills and mix in tank water, or the metro plus (+) from www.doctorsfosterandsmith.com it dissolves well and worked for me.

I've used both the tablet and powder form of Fish Zole, they have worked good for me. Had a couple outbreaks of white poop on some discus and flowerhorns, did the job but everyone has their opinion. Good product though.

For metronidazole this is the best option I have found http://www.kensfish.com/aquarium-supplies/fish-medication/metronidazole-powder.html

Agreed, pure metro powder is the way to go. I get mine from Jehmco.
