How do you sterilize Java Fern???

I would like to transplant some Java Fern from a tank to my soon, and I mean really soon,:Dto be discus tank. Even though it is coming from a healthy tank, I would like to dip it in something just to make sure. I've heard of bleach, but what is the ratio of bleach to water???? Don't want to kill it. Man, before discus I never gave this another thought. Just moved it, stuck it, and went along my merry way.

Do a 1 part bleach to 20 parts water solution and dip it for a couple minutes. You can alternatively give it a dip in potassium permanganate as well.
