Does anyone know where you can order or buy a diamond glass drill bit??? I want to drill a lot of tanks so it will be more cost effective for me to buy the bit. Anyone know where to get them??

Aquatic Eco Systems has them also

A tip,,,when I drill a tank I make a plywood guide so the bit doesn't wander when starting out, I use high speed steel bit/carborundum powder and water...a bit messy as you can see

Hi I found them on E-Bay real cheep from a site by jordan 1680. The answer to your question on sizes a 1 inch bulkhead fitting requires a 1 3/4 diamond drill bit. Also depending on who you buy the fittings from it will tell you all the sizes of drills for the size bulkhead you are going to use. As far the size you need for your application it depends on the setup you use. In my opionion if you are thinking about over flow boxes I would not use them. In that case I would use 1"bh fittings and drill a hole for your return seeing you are going to drill the tanks yourself. Good Luck Mike:bandana:

The size will kind of depend on what you want the hole to do...in the pic the hole is an 1 1/2'' about 38mm and is used for an overflow fpr a sump.

Keep in mind that if the hole/bulkhead is too small then it might not be able to handle the amount of water coming into the tank and you'll have to throttle back the water pump.

Try this link.
They delivered to me in South Africa and I have drilled about 40 holes with my 1 1/4" bit.

These are quite effective but the price varies qreatly depending on the supply chain. They can be bought on ebay for about $6 each.
