Angel ram, what do you guys think?

I saw Angel ram at my local pet store and I think they look awesome. What do you guys think?

I've never heard of angel rams. :confused: It sounds like a fancy name to sell a product. Were these regular blue or gold rams?

They are a cross between an angel and ram...they cannot reproduce. Kinda cute though ;)

Hmmm... would an angelfish even spawn naturally with a ram? I've kept them together for years and I've never had that happen. Are you sure they just aren't the balloon rams with the taller/rounder bodies?

They are a "man-made" hybrid. Let me try to post a pic:

I did some Googling. "Angel ram" is a common name for balloon rams. They aren't actually hybrids but a regular blue ram with a spinal deformity causing the compact, rounded body shape.

Personally I would stick with the regular rams. Several people on forums that I found through Google said theirs didn't live long and died unexpectedly.

Gosh, I should know better :o Saw them a couple years ago in a store in Denver owned by a family from Beijing. He said they were a hybrid. They didn't seem to be as deformed as say a balloon molly.

Just goes to show that you have to be cautious about what a store tells you.

If they are deformed and look that cute then I wouldn’t mind having them. Let just say that I doing them a good deed by keeping instead of getting rid of them. :D:D
