I know these are not discus, but I do have some updated pictures of my discus that follows these. Saw these guys in Butch's tank and had to have them. The stuff floating in the tank is beefheart in case any one is wondering. Sorry I didn't get better pics of them but they just would not stay still for the camrea. And yes my back ground looks like crap we haven't got around to fix it, it was nice at one time. I got a new camrea went the Amber way and got a Sony A100 (Now all I need is Amber to help me find the right settings for it!!!) Hope every one likes!!!!

You sure these are altums and not wild "Peruvian scalares"? How big are they? They look nice and healthy. :)

I agree they look like wild Peruvian angels to me too. I have them with my 130 gallon discus tank BTW, no problems :).

Those are nice !
And I agree, even though, I'm no one to be telling anyone anything :o I think they are Peruvian Scalares too. BUT beautiful ones !!!! I'm Jealous, I'm getting rid of all of my Domestic Angelfish, and the open 60g is a toss up between Altums and more Discus !!!
But it's looking like more Discus, I just love them to much. They are such sweet fish !
If you aren't already familiar -
I would like to invite you to join finarama.com, if your keeping wild scalare or Altum, Lepoldi, or Dumerilii, or anything in between, you would enjoy the site -
Best of luck with them -
They are very nice !!!!!
Thanks for the pics !
OH, and BTW - your Discus are really pretty too !
Lucky you !

I am so vary sorry they are Peruvian Altums like Butch said I should have been more specific on what they are, but I just figured every one would already know what they where so I just kept it simple and put Altums.

Thank you all for your comments I do really like these and they make a great addition to the tank.

Tiff, real nice fish! Congrats--where'd you get them? I'm assuming local, right?
Regards to you, Andres, and the girlie girls!

Hi Tiffany,
Very nice looking wild scalare... probably best to drop the "altum" name altogether for confusion sake.:) One thing to be aware of with these...they can be very aggressive towards each other......be sure to give them lots of room....they'll spar often and the weaker ones will be the worse for it.

best of luck,
al

Thank you:balloon: We kind of noticed that they were aggressive when they were in Butch's tank. But as long as there not aggressive towards the Discus.;) Hopefully a 125gal is enough for them..

Sorry to say guys, I agree with Al, those are definately Peruvian Scalares not altums..

Look just like the ones I used to get from "Paulio" way back when....
