Hello I'm Colette,

I am from High River, Alberta

I have a 100gal tank with two dicus, 5 black skirt tetras 4 neon gold corys and 1 pleco. this is my first time having discus. Over the years
I have had ciclids , oscars ect...

I had 1 siamese algae eater up untill a few days ago...
It was 4in long and picking on my discus niping fins. My one discus was not looking so well untill I took the algae eater out of the tank. A day after taking the bully out my discus color is coming back, but he has chunks of his fins missin. the fish seems to be eating but
not a lot. I hope he is going to make it through this!

Welcome to simply. It could be that your 2 discus need friends. That size tank needs a group of discus to make them feel safe (7-10). Sucker fish dont help either :o

Cool! I like having a good reson to buy more fish. :)
Should I wait till my discus is healed ?
And if I buy one bigger than its size is that a problem ?
I'll have to keep an eye on the sucker.

Yes, but you should also quarantine (keep in a separate tank) any new fish for 4 to 6 wks before adding them to the tank to make sure they are healthy, so if you have another tank, you could get new fish, while the other one heals.

I agree, they do best in groups of minimum 4, 6 is better or more, you have a nice size tank.:) Try to get some the same size, although in a big tank there is more room for them to separate. If you get a new group of 6 they will outnumber the other ones also:)

I agree with Ardan...Make sure you QT your new fish before you add them to your 100 gallon tank...I would get about 8-10 if I had a 100 gallon tank.
