Well, John...the fish in question, that I posted, is in a 55gal ~ he has been in there for years apparently ~ seems pretty happy!

But~


I think he is going to a new home soon.:(

not trying to be a know all honest.pacu's are not related to pirahna they are what is called a mimic fish they live in the same waters and mimic pirahna to live among them(protection in numbers and all that) they are fruit eaters i think.

Its a peacock, but looks a lil bigger than the one on the plate!! hmmmmmm... Bet it tasted just like the water it came out of though...;)

Best of luck with your Pacu. Be ready for the size tho :scared: It is a fuit & nut eater & can crack the hardest of nuts. It can really injure somebody, so be careful.

I know I guy has one a little bigger then this one.. It acts like a puppy..it loves for him to pet it and he feeds it out of his hand he feeds it alge waffers.can't get it to excited it will splash all its water out playing around.you can hear it crush its food.I know sombody that has a pirahna the size of the fish in the picture its face is rounder. Its been in a 55 for years. you can't get it to eat live food..the only way you can get it to eat a fish is to kill the fish first..I told them it likes the company.it eats mostly blood worms and he eat them still frozen and you can hear it crunching it up.I send it red worms when they get too big for me to use.LOL
