Believe it or not it is all on how your raise them from fry. The parents will pass down the coloring and patterns that you can choose the best ones from but if you give the fry plenty of fresh water changes and keep up with feeding quality foods numerous times a day you can raise grade A discus from almost any pair. I have seen discus from grade A parents that I wouldn't consider a grade C because they weren't given the care that they needed when they were babies.

Don't be too concern on A or B grade fish...the most important criteria when breeding is the genetics. Do your homework and seek out good genetics otherwise you could be disappointed. Most good breeders will sell you their best looking fish, but they will NOT sell you their prize genos.
