Not sure of the spelling but looking to try and find out real name and from where it originates. any help appreciated

I think you're looking for Rio Nanay (Nanay River)! Home of the "introduced Wild Red Spotted Greens" :D

Re Nanay.
Again thank's for the Link, this shows that my greens are from Nanay & not Tef'e. the comparison pictures were a great help.

Hi Russell,

I'm not sure what traits you are using to distinguish the two.....but unless you are the collector...its really hard to know which river they come from.. Nanay Greens are still Greens.

But...Even if they are Nanays...if that population was released there...they are still of strongly related genetic stock from where the released population came from....Brazilian rivers if all the stories are true.

I guess what I am saying is...They may still be Tefes.;)

A rose is still a rose by any other name.:)
